What is reflexology?
-
Therapeutic
Whilst the origins of Reflexology date back to ancient China, India & Egypt it wasn't introduced to the West until the early 1900’s by Dr William Fitzgerald. It was further pioneered by Eunice Ingham, an American physiotherapist who developed reflexology into the wonderful treatment we know and practice today.
-
Mind & body
The theory behind Reflexology is that the nerve endings on the soles and tops of our feet are directly connected to every nerve, tissue and organ throughout our bodies. By mapping the reflexes of the feet in a conscious, non-invasive technique I am able to stimulate or calm any systems within the body that seem out of balance.

Health & balance
This treatment is hugely beneficial and will aid in the breaking down and flushing of toxins from within the body. Reflexology helps to promote deep relaxation, boosts circulation and restores health and balance within the body physically, mentally and emotionally.

How you’ll feel
“This was my first reflexology experience and already want to book another! The space is warm and inviting and I felt relaxed right from the start. So glad that I could experience it. Will definitely be coming back!”
What to expect
On the day of your appointment I suggest arriving in loose and comfortable clothing. You may want to wear shoes that accommodate socks so your feet can soak in the beautifully scented products I use. Upon arrival we will complete your short form together. You will remain fully clothed at all times only removing your jacket, shoes and socks. Once you are comfortable within the heated therapy bed you are free to relax and drift away. As your therapist I will cleanse your feet and then begin to consciously map (knead, massage and stretch) your soles, tops of your feet and both ankles. I will calm or stimulate any systems helping to relieve any physical or emotional tension I pick up along the way. Your whole session time including form completion and reflexology will last one hour. Once your treatment is completed I will provide you with some infused water to sip whilst we discuss your session and aftercare.
There are 11 systems within our bodies:
Integumentary / Exocrine system “skin hair nails glands and nerves”
Nervous system
Endocrine “this complex network of glands and organs releases hormones into the bloodstream that help control mood, growth & development, metabolism and reproduction”
Reproductive system
Cardiovascular / circulatory system
Lymphatic / Immune system
Respiratory system
Digestive / Excretory system
Urinary system
Skeletal system
Muscular system
Pause
The benefits of reflexology are endless. It promotes deep relaxation allowing you to pause and breathe in the moment. Soul to Soles can offer you a healing haven during times of feeling lost, sleep deprivation, grief, anxiety, stress or depression. Reflexology can help calm and soothe the body by helping to release tension emotionally, physically and mentally. Whether you turn to this treatment after a long day, a tough week, post illness, as part of a detox, during times of personal turmoil or because you just need an hours uninterrupted rest, I can wholeheartedly say that reflexology will help support you to mentally, physically and emotionally let go and find peace in the present.
